YOGYAKARTA,Cakrainvestigasi.com — The International Future Leaders Competition (IFLC) 2026 successfully concluded on July 25–26 in Yogyakarta, bringing together outstanding students and young innovators from various educational institutions to showcase academic excellence, leadership, innovation, and creativity while promoting global collaboration and cultural exchange.
Organized by the Sentosa Foundation in collaboration with the Arabic Literature Student Association of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), this year's competition carried the theme, "The Role of Young Leaders in Creating Sustainability and Driving Global Innovation."
The event was officially opened by Yusuf Ahmad Khairiy, Secretary of the Arabic Literature Student Association of UGM, who welcomed participants and encouraged them to exchange ideas, broaden their perspectives, and establish meaningful international partnerships.
Throughout the two-day event, participants competed in two main categories: the Essay Competition and the Business Plan Competition. Finalists presented their projects before an international panel of judges, participated in poster exhibitions, academic discussions, leadership development sessions, international seminars, and networking programs aimed at strengthening innovation and cross-cultural collaboration.
One of the highlights of IFLC 2026 was an international seminar featuring three distinguished speakers. Aisha Juma Musa inspired participants through her presentation on Empowering Future Leaders, while Alaa Eltelwany emphasized the importance of effective communication skills in enhancing global competitiveness. Completing the seminar, Almas Azzahra, Puteri Indonesia Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, shared insights on the significance of personal branding and self-confidence in shaping future leaders.
Beyond the academic competition, participants explored Indonesia's cultural heritage through visits to the Sonobudoyo Museum, the iconic Prambanan Temple, and one of Yogyakarta's renowned souvenir centers. The cultural excursion provided opportunities for participants to deepen their appreciation of Indonesian culture while fostering intercultural understanding and international friendship.
Competition Results
Based on the judges' evaluation, the Essay Competition was won by Universitas Lambung Mangkurat, led by Elvina Reinandini. Shafa Nabil Fashih from SMA Ibnu Hajar Boarding School secured second place, while Ageman Sajati Yusuf and his team from Brawijaya University finished third.
Honorable Mentions were awarded to Zahrul Adi Winata (Universitas Sriwijaya), Diva Dwi Juliana (Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia), and Ellen Gracia Alfa Yulianto (Brawijaya University).
In the Business Plan Competition, first place went to the Institute of Business Information Technology and Business, represented by Zivanka Gonawi. Rizal Akbar from Thursina IIBS earned second place, followed by Samuel from Universitas Airlangga in third.
Honorable Mentions were presented to Lisma Hayati from Semarang State University and Eni Widia Ningrum from Universitas Negeri Surabaya.
Special Awards
A series of special awards recognized outstanding achievements in presentation, research papers, posters, and audience favorites.
In the Essay Competition, awards for Best Presentation, Best Paper, Best Poster, Favorite Paper, and Most Favorite Poster were presented to representatives from Palangkaraya University, Politeknik Negeri Semarang, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, and Diponegoro University, respectively.
Additional Favorite Poster Awards were presented across various subthemes, including Law, Social and Economics, Health, Environment, Food, Tourism and Culture, Education, Agriculture, and Technology.
Similarly, in the Business Plan Competition, participants received awards for Best Presentation, Best Paper, Best Poster, Favorite Paper, and Most Favorite Poster, while additional subtheme awards recognized excellence in Technology, Creative Industry, Culinary, and Environment.
The highest recognition of the event, the Grand Champion Award of IFLC 2026, was presented to Brawijaya University for its outstanding overall performance throughout the competition.
